In the patristics seminar Thursday we tranlated through chapter 4 of On the Making of Man.  I learned that Lampe’s patristic lexicon is only useful for specialized words and does not have the full vocab that you’d need for doing patristic translation.  So LSJ is the lexicon of choice for this task.  I tried using the Perseus’ LSJ but didn’t have lots of luck, but I also didn’t spend a lot of time trying to figure it out.  Fortunately, I didn’t embarrass myself this time like I did when translating the first chapter in Gregory.
